Live music is one of my loves in life. I haven’t photographed many artists until recently. Regrets for not photographing Bowie and Prince.
The Black Pumas
Josey RecordsMy daughter, Marlee and I love this little band from Texas. It was fun to watch them take off. This was her first experience going to an in-store record signing and she may be hooked! I included Aaron Frazer and the Bastards of Soul because we were introduced to them through the Black Pumas. RIP Chadwick.
Duran Duran
With my Sweet friend VeroikaDetest selfies, but when you run into Nick Rhodes!Duran Duran are my longest running love of any artist (almost 40 years!). They have influenced many parts of my life including the love of art, sound, Bowie, Warhol, Artificial Intelligence, and design. They are usually WAY ahead of the curve with technology. I may have to make a special post about that at some point. Most of these photos are from the ‘All You Need is Now’ and ‘Paper Gods’ tours. I have also met so many amazing women because of these fellas. I am ecstatic they are now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Nile Rodgers
My daughter on stage with Chic, maybe 2011. Don’t tell her I posted this. I remember as a young girl being moved by disco and funk. I am not sure why. I think it was the bass, but Nile “Hitmaker” Rodgers is connected to many of those songs I loved, so maybe he is the key. He went on to produce many artists such as Bowie, Duran Duran, Madonna, and Daft Punk. Nile has given so much back to music and children through his charity. He has always been such a kind and warm soul. I have seen him at various festivals and with Duran Duran (more photos soon).
Jack White
I don’t even know where to begin with Jack. I tend to gravitate toward artists who do far more than play music and who understand art, aesthetic, and the full sensory experience of music. He is not only prolific in music, but in other areas such as art & design, upholstery, film, business, and poetry. Jack also co-owns a bat company called Warstic based in Deep Ellum (Dallas) and they often have sandlot games that are great fun to attend. You will probably see Jack’s influence in much that I do. See TMR Creative Collective. Jack doesn’t permit concert photos at his shows (which I actually love), so what you see here are grainy festival photos of The Raconteurs at ACL in 2019, the Third Man Records 10th anniversary in Nashville in 2019, performing the National Anthem at the Detroit Tigers season opener on April 8th, 2022 (he also got engaged and married at his show that night), and The Twisted Xmas show in Chicago 2022.
Peter Murphy
Arcadia Theater, 1990David JPeter Murphy was probably the first artist I photographed (see the first grainy photo). Each time with my Bestie. I have seen him many times, the last in 2019 at the Granada Theatre. I have yet to see Bauhaus, not for the lack of trying. I bought 40th anniversary tickets which was cancelled 3x :(. I have seen Love and Rockets and dying for them to tour again.
